Media Magic Productions is Northeast Ohio's full-service audio/videography
production and public relations company. We specialize in capturing on tape all

Cheryl Dickson-Walker is the founder and news
director of the Ashtabula County Newsnet and president and Creative Director of
Media Magic Productions, L.L.C. She brings to the business more than
twenty-five years experience in television and radio broadcasting and
journalism, video production, public relations, marketing and management. In the
past 5 years, Cheryl has scripted, produced and edited dozens of local
television commercials and advertising campaigns, as well as dozens of
television news, information and entertainment programs.
A 1979 graduate of Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois,
Dickson-Walker has 18 years experience producing television and radio newscasts
at WJW-TV and WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania and WFUN/WREO
radio in Ashtabula, Ohio. Her background includes almost all facets of TV and
video production, including scriptwriting, video and audio editing, line
producing, reporting, assignment planning and crew management, news and special
event videography, graphic production and using newsroom computer systems. She
has also worked as a freelance newspaper feature writer and photographer for the
Gazette Publications in Ashtabula County, Ohio.
Cheryl has many years of experience in training new television producers,
reporters, college and high school interns and other young journalists, and has
written several training manuals for new employees. She also worked closely
with television broadcast consultants from Frank Magid and Associates, Audience
Research and Development and Media and Marketing. While at WJW, Dickson-Walker
worked with its parent company, Gillett Communications, as a minority recruiter
at national broadcast job fairs.
Over the past 20 years, Cheryl Dickson-Walker has been the recipient of many
major awards for journalism. In 1987, Dickson won the national Radio-Television
News Director's Association's Michele Clark Fellowship. Since that time, she
has won four Cleveland Emmy awards and ten Emmy nominations for shows she's
written and produced, and a national award from the National Association of
Black Journalists for International News Coverage. She is presently a member of
the Board of Directors of the United Way of Ashtabula County, and sits as Chair
of its Communications Committee.
David Walker is the Director of Photography for
the Ashtabula County Newsnet and vice-president and Operations Manager of Media
Magic Productions, L.L.C. He also serves as Media Magic’s chief Avid editor,
and specializes in television commercial production, including Adobe After
Effects post-production work. David brings to the business more than fifteen
years experience in computer technology, and audio and video production.
An accomplished musician and composer, Walker designed and constructed Media
Magic’s Black Cloud Studios, a 24-track audio recording facility, along with
Media Magic’s computerized broadcast video editing facility, in New Lyme
Township, Ohio. His background includes computerized and analog audio and video
production, including video and audio editing, broadcast, corporate, wedding and
special event videography, live and studio audio recording, graphic layout and
production, and composing music for video and radio and television commercial
production.
David’s talents with his Sony DXC D-30 broadcast video camera and the new
Panasonic HVX-200 HD/DV camera have been put to use, locally and nationally. His
camerawork has aired on newscasts and specials on WUAB-TV and WKYC-TV in
Cleveland, Ohio, WJET-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania, and nationwide, on the
syndicated “Montel Williams” show.
Walker is responsible for building and maintaining all of the AMD and
Intel-based digital audio, video and graphic computer systems used by Media
Magic. He also installs and maintains MMP’s Sony Betacam and ¾ analog broadcast
video editing stations and mobile audio, video and audio/visual reinforcement
equipment.
An avid computer user since his youth, David has become familiar with numerous
computer software programs in many areas. Walker’s software expertise includes
audio programs such as Cakewalk Sonar, Sony Sound Forge, Acid and Vegas; video
programs, including Avid Express Pro HD, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe After
Effects; Pinnacle’s Hollywood FX and Impression DVD Authoring software, Vegas
Video and; and graphic production programs, including Adobe Photoshop, PageMaker
and Microsoft Publisher. He also has an extensive background in traditional
printing press layout and design.
Michele L. Bailey
Michele Bailey is an accomplished organizational
development and communications strategist. Creative and imaginative, Michele
has the drive and initiative to teach, motivate, empower and support
organizations or individuals in developing or enhancing their public image. She

A graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Michele has served as Direct of
Communications in Cleveland, Ohio for Cleveland City Council and the Cuyahoga
County recorder’s office. She developed, coordinated and administered publicity
campaigns that ran in or on more than 80 Cuyahoga County newspapers, magazine,
radio and television shows. While working in the Recorder’s office, Michele
actualized numerous marketing letters and brochures, scheduled, designed and
produced employee newsletters and created programs, which motivated, recognized
and rewarded employees.
In the ‘90’s, Michele Bailey was recruited by Cleveland City Council to
spearhead start-up of an internal communications department, and major change
initiatives designed to resolve organizational image problems. She provided
visionary leadership in directing media relations, public affairs activities,
special events and both internal and external communications. Bailey
successfully created strategic alliances and partnerships with Cleveland’s
corporate, government and academic communities.
Bailey has also enjoyed a successful career in broadcast, having worked as an
Urban Affairs Reporter/Producer at NPR Member Station WCPN in Cleveland, and
General Assignment Reporter for WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois.
